Little Museum of Romantic Speculations, 1998

In 1998 Sheila Gaffney was awarded a Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Arts Board Grant (Glass) to develop the material fragility and colour in her work through a series called The Little Museum of Romantic Speculations. The original constructions were still formed with wax, paper, clay, small castings and fabric - most notably knitwear. The works were then produced finally in Bullseye glass and 30% lead bearing glass using kiln - fusing techniques and the ancient process of pate de verre casting.
