Locale was a year long project which culminated in the gallery installation of a performance oriented site work. It was an expression of community through sculpture. Hundreds of ordinary peoples' hands, cast from plaster then cast into wax, formed the core of the installation / performance which explored ideas of industry, the work force, work and worth. Participants for hand-casts and for work on the production line required to produce Locale, were recruited at random through the local press, radio and by word of mouth.
